APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS

 

 

  1. All associate, undergraduate (Bachelor’s), graduate (Master’s), and doctoral (PhD) students enrolled at Kafkas University are eligible to apply.

  2. Quotas for learning mobility are determined according to the number of participants specified in the Erasmus Bilateral Agreements.

  3. Undergraduate and graduate students cannot apply while they are in the preparatory class (language prep).

  4. Applicants must have completed 2 (two) semesters at Kafkas University.

  5. Students who were entitled to become Erasmus students in previous years but did not exercise their right or withdrew must retake all exams. Those who have previously benefited from the Erasmus program and wish to participate again without a grant (zero-grant) are eligible to apply.

  6. Applicants must be full-time students.

  7. All applicants are required to take the language proficiency exam conducted by the School of Foreign Languages (YDYO). Additionally, scores from YDS (within the last 5 years—not the university entrance exam) and YÖK-DİL (within the last 5 years) will be valid.

  8. Candidates wishing to go to institutions with English-medium instruction must take the English exam; similarly, those wishing to go to institutions with Russian or French instruction must take the Russian or French exams. Candidates may take more than one language exam. Candidates who fail the language exam cannot benefit from the exchange.

  9. Students may benefit from the exchange as funded, non-funded, or funded for the Fall semester and non-funded for the Spring semester.

  10. The same student may benefit from learning and internship mobility for a total of up to 12 months (funded or non-funded) at each level of education. (1st Cycle: Associate/Bachelor’s; 2nd Cycle: Master’s; 3rd Cycle: Doctorate).

  11. Detailed information can be obtained from the Erasmus Coordination Office.

  12. For objections regarding eligibility check results, the placement process, and outcomes, students may contact the Erasmus office and relevant faculty/department coordinators and, if necessary, use the university’s official appeal procedure. If you are unsatisfied with the outcome, you may apply to the Center for EU Education and Youth Programmes (www.ua.gov.tr).

  13. Applications are free of charge.

  14. To apply, students’ most recent Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) must be at least 2.20/4.00 or 58/100 for associate and undergraduate students, and 2.50/4.00 or 65/100 for graduate and doctoral students.

  15. Students must have a sufficient ECTS credit load for learning mobility (according to the European Commission’s ECTS Guide, this is 30 ECTS per academic semester and 60 ECTS per academic year).

  16. The evaluation criteria and weighted scores to be used in assessing applications for Erasmus Learning Mobility are as follows:

    • Academic Success Level (GPA): 50%

    • Language Proficiency Level: 50%
